We joined ten other wildlife enthusiasts on a seven day trip to the Danube Delta at the end of May/beginning of June 2024 organised by “Oriole Birding” tour company. We were accompanied by expert guide Marcus Nash and joined in Romania by local guide Cristian Sandu. Our first two nights were spent at the very welcoming Ibis Guesthouse in Tulcea before we boarded a very comfortable floating hotel owned by the same family company that owned the guesthouse. The rest of the week was spent exploring the waters of the Danube Delta, using a small excursion boat to visit the narrower waterways while the hotel boat moved locations to anchor in a different spot each night.
