In June 2022 we went on a group trip to southern Greece in search of butterflies. The tour was organised by a specialist tour company called Greenwings and the group of 12 participants was led by Alice Hunter, who had extensive knowledge of the regions fauna and flora, and the butterfly expert Simon Spencer. Simon’s wife Anne and Alice were our drivers. The tour started in Delphi, where we visited the ancient ruins and explored the nearby Mt. Parnassus. We moved on to a hotel in the town of Kalavryta on the Peloponnese peninsula, from where we investigated a number of nearby sites including Mt. Chelmos.
