Ten of us from the Bedfordshire Natural History Society, with varying natural history interests, had an excellent trip to Bosnia-Herzegovina in May 2019. We spent the week based in Mostar from where we made daily excursions to a variety of habitats, ably led by Denis Bohm who founded ‘Wild Herzegovina’, a wildlife travel company that specialises in trips to this beautiful part of Europe. We visited sites in the Dinaric Alps, the delta of the Neretva River and the Hutovo Blato Marshlands. Several days were spent in Karst fields, which were particularly rewarding for wildlife.
