This was a Naturetrek trip focussed on mammals and excellently led by local guide Henry Sapinggi. We started with a couple of nights at Sepilok Nature Resort from where we visited the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Sun Bear Conservation Centre. We then spent a week in the Deramakot Forest Reserve to see wild Orangutans and lots of nocturnal mammals on night drives. The trip finished with a few days at the Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort on the Kinabatangan River. Troops of Proboscis monkeys were the highlight of boat trips along the river.
